The best way of learning a language is to practise it a lot.It could be just by reading, listening, speaking, writing ...and by being always ready to learn and absorb everything that is interesting for the learning. There are nice or boring ways of doing it. I would like to recommend you all a very different one. I've just discovered a bar where everything is in English. It's called Flaherty's and is situated in plaça Joaquim Xirau very close to Colom. I was there last night and everything was great, incredible. After ordering something to drink a guy ,aged about 30, went to the stage and, of course in English, spoke about young people in Catalonia, compared to Irish young people. The boy on the stage and the people in the bar started discussing about who were more suitable for working in nowadays firms, for everyday life...After half an hour Irish musicians started to play music and everybody in the bar started dancing as the musicians were telling us the steps of the dance. As soon as we finished dancing, we saw a short about the topic we had been discussing and we reached some agreements about it.
Anyway, it was very nice and great and this structure seems to be on the bar every Tuesday and Thursday from 8 pm to 11 pm. You don't need to join the people in the bar if you don't want to. There are tables far from this place if you just want to enjoy a peaceful pint.
I have two proposals for you all. Firstly, if any of you want to enjoy this atmosphere, we can go together. Secondly and this one is compulsory for everybody. I would like you to check if there are Spanish bars, restaurants...in Dublin, Gallway, Sligo, Belfast... any city in Ireland. I would like you to research about any place related to Spanish people and what they are like, what they do, if there are any kind of shows, if there are Spanish menus... whatever related to the Spanish tradition.
I'm looking forward to getting all your comments about it.
